    • Two things in particular make this book stand out over a lot of Christian fiction I've read recently:1) Since both the main characters have already given their lives to Christ before the story begins, there isn't all that pre-conversion angsty-ness that is present in so many other books in this genre.2) Something other than the problem of evil is the spiritual problem the characters have to deal with. I don't mean to be dismissive of either a person coming to Christ or of understanding (or tryin [...]

    • One of my favorites by Karen Witemeyer and a great one to re-read! Levi is in my top 5 fictional heroes I'm crushing on. He totally carries the story for me, there are so many layers to him even though he appears simple. Eden is delightful and we have a love for books and flower-pressing in common. Their blossoming friendship is lovely and the special moments they share are so romantic!

    • Karen Witemeyer has done it again! Not since Julie Lessman have I given the first three books by an author five stars in succession. “To Win Her Heart” has definitely earned my accolades.I could go on for a complete review on the characters alone. They are crafted and honed until they stand from the page in full three-dimension. Levi is not only an exceptional hero, but he stands as one of the most touching characters I have ever read. He is strapping in his masculinity, but his hearts is wha [...]

    • Wow! I loved this novel! I love, love, love any sort of book where the hero or heroine is hindered with some sort of physical issue. (See Silent Revenge) Levi's speech impediment really tugged on my heartstrings. I enjoyed both him and Eden, separately and together. At times I felt Eden was slightly cliché, but she's human, after all. I loved the suspense, too! I thought we were nearing the end of the story around the 65% mark, but it just kept going. And I'm glad it did. This is a quick and ea [...]

    • Levi killed a man. He spent two years in prison and wants nothing more than to begin a new life. The opportunity comes in the post of blacksmith for the small town of Spencer. And in Eden, the small-town librarian, aka Miss Spencer.Who can’t bear violence. Even against cockroaches. But she collects flowers and reads to children and writes to Levi about his favorite author, Jules Verne. He can’t help himself, really. From falling in love.If only he could find the words to explain his past. Throug [...]

    • 4.5Well, another great book by Karen Witemeyer. I really enjoyed this one, right from the start. While I’m not a huge believer of the whole reformed criminal, I definitely believed in Levi and fell for his charming character. He is this oversized giant, but a teddy bear on the inside. The story starts with him leaving prison behind and him trying to start a new life for himself as a blacksmith. As soon as he arrives in town he meets Eden Spencer, the town librarian. She judges him at first and [...]

    • ceceliadowdy/2011Spinster Eden Spencer runs her own library out of her home. She's wealthy and since she's been painfully jilted in the past, she doesn't have any romantic relationships. Instead, she finds solace amoung her book stacks. She also loves reading stories to children every week and she loves flowers. However, Eden's non-romantic life changes when tall, strong, and handsome Levi Grant comes to town, hired as the new blacksmith. Levi has some ghosts in his past, he's just gotten out of [...]

    • Rating 4.5First read by Karen Witemeyer and it will not be the last. She is such a great writer, making my emotions feel like it is on a roller-coaster - I felt compassion, smiled, laughed, got angry and even had that "aaahhh" feeling. The story started out slow, but kept on building until the climax at the end where I couldn't stop to see what will happen!I loved that the Christian theme about love and forgiveness was so strong! I identified a lot with Eden. Eden had to learn to not be critical [...]

    • Note: Re-read for the Contentment Reading Challenge 2013!First reviewed on the Radiant Lit website:The new blacksmith in Spencer, Texas knows what it’s like to win a fight with his fists, but learning how to win Eden Spencer’s heart is a greater—and more rewarding—challenge than Levi Grant has yet faced. Starting over in a new town is no easy task. Especially with a past such as his that includes time spent in prison and a lifetime of correcting a speech issue. But with the forgiveness o [...]

    • What do a stubborn livery owner, a handsome rancher and a burley blacksmith have in common? Well they are all heroes created by Karen Witemeyer and they are incredible! As with every other novel by Ms. Witemeyer, I have utterly fallen in love with the characters of To Win Her Heart and feel as if they are old friends. As I read more novels it is becoming increasingly difficult to find characters that are original and interesting by I have found one in Levi Grant. Sure he's a blacksmith and defin [...]

    • If you've ever read a Karen Witemeyer book before, then I know you don't need me to convince you to read another one! If you haven't read one, then you're really missing out. I became an instant fan after reading A Tailor-Made Bride. I just absolutely adore Karen's style of writing. She truly pulls you in the story and you love the characters like you know them. Levi's character just really pulled at my heartstrings. He was a true "gentle giant." He can't pronounce the letter "s" without lisping [...]

    • How many ways can I say I love this book?! The characters seemed to be real people, and the storyline was so wonderful. The hero and heroineah, I loved it from page 1. This is one of my favorite books so far this year!I read this non-stop as much as possible, reading on my phone in line for lunch, etc. The librarian and the blacksmithch an unusual combo. Five stars.

    • An impulse purchase pays off!I was completely surprised by this book and moreso, my reaction to it. Frankly, I'm not a reader who would consider an inspirational romance for fear of the religious overtones obscuring the story. I purchased To Win Her Heart simply to have some brain candy for the evening. I was looking for something different to read, and the setting and synopsis intrigued me so much I added the story to my Kindle without realizing the story's sub-genre. And am I glad I did.One of [...]

    • What I liked:1. The fast pace. I enjoyed reading it - it was an easy, train-kind-of read. It wasn't hard to start and it went fast.2. I WANTED to read on. Which is a good sign, I suppose.3. I loved the names. Eden. Levi. Chloe. Duncan. Just adorable names.4. I LOVED Eden and Levi's library notes. I have something for library notes - I have something for libraries, I should say, haha. Eden works in a library, so of course I like her.5. It was nice. I really liked it.What I DIDN'T like about this [...]

    • I cannot begin to say how much I loved To Win Her Heart. Karen Witemeyer is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her characters are deep, and frankly unlike many in Christian fiction today.I adored the relationship between Levi and Eden. The pasts of both characters were fascinating, and I especially loved Eden's character growth throughout the book. The supporting characters were rich as well. Honestly, I'd love to see Chloe and Duncan's story explored further. I loved them, and the way [...]

    • I've found a new author to add to my must-read list. Karen Witemeyer's novels brim over with romance, humor, and well-developed characters, and I chewed through all three in a very short time. The characters were so richly developed. I loved Levi's restraint - from how he creatively works around his speech impediment to how he resists the urge to violence. I also loved watching Eden grow from a woman who sees herself as charitable to a woman who actually is charitable. The side characters are de [...]

    • I have loved all three of Karen's books, but this one is the best. The romantic tension is wonderful, just the right touch to keep the reader wanting more, but enough that you feel the angst of the characters. The symbolism lends a great morality to the plot.

    • Love love love heroes with a dark past and this was no exception. Levi is such a great hero and the heroine is his perfect match. Excellent and highly recommended!

    • SUMMARY: Having completed his sentence for the unintentional crime that derailed his youthful plans for fame and fortune, Levi Grant looks to start over in the town of Spencer, Texas. Spencer needs a blacksmith, a trade he learned at his father's knee, and he needs a place where no one knows his past. But small towns leave little room for secretsEden Spencer has sworn off men, choosing instead to devote her time to the lending library she runs. • Levi has a past that he would like to leave the past. His move to Spencer, TX is just what he needs. The local town is in need of a blacksmith and he has the skill and knowledge to fit the job. Eden is a lonely lady who is really thinking she'll live the rest of her life alone after what her broken engagement. While she loves books and reading, there are some things that pages in a book cannot replace. She could have anyone she wanted. Afterall, she is the heiress to the town's founder!Sheriff P [...]

    • This was a really great story about forgiveness, redemption, love, and romance. I think that the plot was laid out well, and the theme was good, but I must say that it got a little too "mushy" for me and I skimmed some of the romantic explanations. Overall, I recommend this book to girls (an I suppose boys could read it too) who enjoy Christian romance books.

    • I had mixed feelings towards this story, there were aspects that I really enjoyed, but overall the message was a bit too heavy handed for my tastes in Christian fiction.I really liked Levi's character. He was so well developed and I hadn't seen a former prisoner as the hero in a romance before, especially in the Christian market. It was interesting to see his guilt over his actions explored. I also really liked the story about his speech impediment. It was interesting how he was able to complete [...]

    • Aw… what a tender love story. What a beautiful tale of redemption. What a powerful testimony of Christ’s love and His surpassing forgiveness. I can’t begin to describe this book to you the way I really want to. To Win Her Heart is truly a novel that brings you to tears.Eden and Levi’s relationship is ultimately amazing. They test true love, and they find that they do, in the end, have it for each other. But first they have to go through trials of doubting, distrust, self-righteous judgme [...]

    • Karen Witemeyer has done it again. TO WIN HER HEART is the third book I’ve read by her. If I hadn’t been convinced by her first two books, A TAILOR-MADE BRIDE and HEAD IN THE CLOUDS, that she’s amazing writer and story teller, TO WIN HER HEART sealed the deal. The prison ministry is a passion and calling from God that I’ve been blessed to serve in since 2004. Levi Grant’s story immediately drew me in. When I think of Levi, a gentle giant comes to mind. A man with a past, one who earned [...]

    • Age Appropriate For: 15 and up (for romance)Best for Ages: 15 and upFinally, I read To Win Her Heart! It has taken me so long to get to this story, and I have heard nothing but good things about it. However, even the best of books can be drowned in a to-read pile.As I read this book, it felt a lot like a beauty and the beast story. Was it just me? I saw all sorts of parallels to that fairy tale, from the arrogant man who was attracted to Eden, to a man who never thinks he can win the love a woma [...]

    • Karen Witemeyer can write. And how! I thought her first two books were great and knew To Win Her Heart would be, too, but I was wrong. This story is awesome! I didn’t think she could top A Tailor-made Bride or Head in the Clouds, but she did. Her two main characters in To Win Her Heart are so well crafted that I was in love with them by the end of the first chapter. Levi Grant is one of the most sympathetic heroes I’ve read in a long time: a man of faith, integrity, and honor who stole my he [...]

    • I really enjoyed To WIn Her Heart. It was one of those I cannot put it down or go to sleep before 5 am type of books. The story line was great. I love historical books and this one stole my heart. Especially one of the main characters loving books and being a librarian. And a man that loves to read as well? Of course I was all for it! ALl of the characters were interesting, believable and ones that I fell in love with. I didn't want the story to end. I wish it was a series. I find myself feeling [...]

    • My best friend has told me about this book long before I even considered reading it, so now that I finally got to read it, I understand why she loved it so much. This was such a great story. I love all the plots woven into the main one. The characters were perfect, and Karen Witemeyer's writing is so inspiring. I stayed up late and woke up early to finish it. I didn't want to put the book down. I can't wait to read some more of her books!
