    • I got this book as a BookBub recommendation - I had never read this author before and I don't usually read western romance. However it was historical, the blurb sounded interesting and it had very good reviews, so I gave it a shot. I won't say it was awful - but I am shocked by all the 4 & 5 star reviews! This book has so many errors, inconsistencies, and typos that I have to wonder if the rave reviews were given by the authors friends.I will admit to being a bit anal about the books I read [...]

    • romancenoveljunkies / for book lovers and readers.4.5 starsBRIEF SUMMARYCatherine loves running her father's ranch in Creede, Colorado. However, they’ve been having problems recently that has resulted in stampedes, cattle dying, kidnapping, and revenge. This has ex- bounty hunter Duncan, returning to Creede, to the family that has raised him. Catherine has loved Duncan since she was a little girl, and even though she has loved him and he has returned, she figures she can manage the ranch just [...]

    • Well! Smear my butt with butter and call me a biscuit! All of the elements are there. Like the classics of yesteryear by, Karl May, Zane Grey, and Louis L’Amour this story is full of western meat with just enough spice to make a delicious literary enchilada, sure to sate anyone. Action, love, lust, greed, gold and the wide-open spaces of an almost virgin Colorado wilderness, supply all the elements of a great story. When Duncan McKenzie returns after a ten-year absence, he knows what he wants [...]

    • Tame a Wild Heart by Cynthia Woolf is a typical good western. It was an easy read and I really liked it. Duncan Mackenzie walks back into Catherine's (AKAas Cat) almost 10 years after he walked out taking a piece of her heart. He returns to the ranch at a request from James, Cat's father, and because he wanted a change. James blackmails Duncan and Cat into getting married. Cat is secretly thrilled but worries what if Duncan runs off again. They are being threatened by Morgan and his hired gun wh [...]

    • I don't know why I read as far as I did. (50%)The writing is scatterbrained, immature, illogical and cliched the characters all unlikeable. The author was attempting to write angst and tension but only succeeded in making my head spin with the nonsense and lack of logic. She doesn't want a husband, yet caves so easily. She is mad at the H for leaving her heartbroken 10 years ago, yet she loves him, and trusts him not to leave again and will do anything to gain his love. WTF? He loves her strength [...]

    • This is such a fun, sweet western romance! The romance between Catherine and Duncan is sweet and steamy. Cynthia always has a fun element of danger in her western historicals, and this one is no exception.Definitely worth a spot on your TBR shelf!

    • I enjoyed this one much more than I anticipated.I admit that it is far from perfect. Very far, in fact. However, the story was extremely addictive. I found myself able to overlook the faults because I wanted to see where things were going. I wanted to know how it would end. Due to these two factors, there were moments in which I felt as though I could give four stars yet at the same time there were moments in which I felt as though it needed to be dropped down to two stars. Mostly, it was a thre [...]

    • Can anyone really do that do you suppose? I would think only if love was involved and it is not so much as tame but be of like mind and understand and take them and love them as they are. So in order to have that answered the title alone is intriguing and so into the story I went. I enjoy this author's books so either way I knew I was in a win win situation. Right away caught up in a stampede and who is in charge but a woman who is not afraid in the 1880's running a ranch but faced with some tro [...]

    • Perfect historical western. Hot, steamy and a quick read. This is the first western romance in a historical fiction format I have ever read, and a perfect one to start with. As Tame a Wild Heart is a sweet and fast paced story, even I could finish in one weekend. After finishing this book I was left thinking that I really must be missing something when it comes to westerns, at least when it comes to those written by Cynthia Woolf. Call her spirited, hot-headed or just plain thick sculled Catherin [...]

    • You can find this review and more at Forever Book Lover. This story was filled with all those things that I love to find in a good western romance book: captivating plot, suspense, passion, strong family ties and tough as nails heroine and those tough, loyal and sexy cowboy!! Duncan was perfect to take on the strong willed Cat. Duncan has had enough with being a bounty hunter and he is ready to go back to the only home he has known. Cat and Duncan have a past, but little was uncovered to let the [...]

    • Tame a Wild Heart by Cynthia Woolf is a historical romance set in Colorado in the 1880s. I enjoyed reading Woolf's romantic western but overall I felt that there were several missing pieces to the story. The beginning of the novel felt abrupt and choppy at times. I found it interesting that Catherine and Duncan had some prior history with one another but I felt like Woolf could've played it up a little more. I think it would've helped with the intimate moments between the two characters. As a re [...]

    • This is a great read if you enjoy a western romance don't hesitate to read this book. It is part of s series but can be read as a stand alone without thinking your getting only half of the story. Highly recommend this author.

    • This was an audio that pulled me in it is full of danger, mystery and overcoming the lose of the one who walked away. There is nothing like your first and only love walking away breaking your heart that is so strong you vow to never love again. This is the first book I have listen/read of Ms. Woolf's I enjoyed it so much I found a few more at a bargain and bought them as well. I loved the love/hate going on with this couple, along with the plot, the characters are strong, they fight hard and lov [...]

    • Catherine and Duncan have a history, only some of which we're given a glimpse of. They each have their own demons. I would have liked to know a bit more about whatever happened to Duncan when he first left the ranch. Some of the situations are just sketchy. Even in the old West, if you were kidnapped, the sheriff could do something about it. Story was predictable, but well written.

    • Like another reviewer I was put off total enjoyment by the multiple inconsistencies and editing errors. However, I still finished the book and enjoyed it for what it was, a fluffy, lighthearted romance read.

    • Tame a Wild Heart is a well written cowboy romance that very much reflects the post-civil war period in the West as I imagined it would have been. Just lately I seem to be going through a phase where everything I read is set in this era.The hero, Duncan McKenzie, returns to a ranch he left ten years before. In the interim years Duncan has become a bounty hunter, but doesn’t much like the life, so when his old friend asks him to return to the ranch and offers up his daughter in marriage so that [...]

    • I enjoyed the read, mostlyIt was easy to get lost in Tame A Wild, the story flowed very well. I enjoyed reading about a not so helpless Catherine, arguing and fussing against her father. Fortunately Duncan was stubborn enough to hold his own with her. Her father, James was a hard brick, but truly loved his daughter and their ranch, which meant everything to them both. Cat had always loved Duncan, but didn't want two give in when her father demanded that they marry. She had been somewhat overindu [...]

    • This was my first read by this author and I have to say I did enjoy it. The characters were easy to like and in some cases dislike. Catherine has loved Duncan all of her life. He was older than her, but to her it didn't matter. She was heartbroken when he left. She is older, wiser and stronger now and she does not need a man.cially Duncan! Duncan left years ago to avoid taking advantage of a young and vulnerable Catherine. He became a bounty hunter and made a good living at it. James, Catherine' [...]

    • This book was quite a pleasant read. It was reasonably well written with an engaging storyline. There were a couple of things which bothered me a little. First was the constantly switching viewpoints. I love novels with multiple viewpoints but I much prefer when they are clearly separated. Either one viewpoint per chapter or even having breaks within a chapter when you switch to another character's point of view. Switching too often with no clear warning is a little confusing, not to mention jar [...]

    • I received the Tamed series boxed set from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book is the first title of that series, but can be read as a stand alone without any cliffhangers. Let me just start by saying that I have become a fan of Ms. Woolf's awesome storytelling and her ability to create unforgettable characters that a reader can emotionally connect with. Duncan and Catherine are two such characters; they each have very strong, stubborn, loyal, and bigger than life personalitie [...]

    • She is devastated by his absence and changed from the adoring, naive young girl she was. However, on his return she soon realises that she still loves him. On his part, he has had a longing for something out of reach. When he is called back yo the ranch, he realises that it is really home- even after an absence of 10 years. This story, has the message that you can always go home, it's never too late to find the ones who once lived you. Descriptions of the wild untamed land blend with sensuous de [...]

    • A great light read. A western romance book isn't my most read genre and I enjoyed the change. Great character development and I am loving the ranch settings for books. Catherine and Duncan Both change so much during this book they both seem to go from being strong independent individuals and through the course of the book we get to seem to them fall in love with each other and learn to work together and of course being a romance fall in love. I also liked the side characters that are added to th [...]

    • This tale of reunited love was my introduction to this author. In an interesting twist, Duncan and Catherine, who had loved each other 10 years ago, had to be emotionally blackmailed into marriage. The reason for the 3 stars is because:1) It would have been nice to get more of a back story about how Duncan, who was 13 years old at the time, managed to save the life of Catherine's father in the Civil War.2) I normally like strong women but I found that Catherine was too reckless with her safety. S [...]

    • Tame A Wild Heartby Cynthia Woolf AuthorCatherine was a very young girl when her father took in Dunacan to raise. He left the ranch when Catherine was 16 years old. Duncan returned some 10 years later. Catherine's fathertrusted Duncan with his land and his daughter. The story is of the old west, bad guys and an indian tribe that live near them. There is an interesting mix of troubles in their lives. This story keeps the pages moving,as you uncover the love of the characters and how they help an [...]
