    • I'm not big into dystopian novels, and the blurb read like a dysoptian novel, but I am into star-crossed lovers - so I gave it a go and I wasn't disappointed! The author has created a contemporary world where the air has changed and the world is divided into those who can breathe the new air, and those who can't and need support. Alex is an Oxy, which means he belongs to the group with all the power, while he longs for Erin, who is out of his reach because she's a Blue, and the gap between the t [...]

    • I’d describe this book as a perfect geode - looks like a plain boring rock on the outside, but once you crack it open, it’s a magical gem inside. It’s a happy day when the worst thing about your book is the cover and title. Both of which are fine, I suppose, but they don’t reflect the fantastic read that this book is. I don’t usually get into dystopian YA, but this book hooked me from the start, reeled me in and gutted me. The universe was thoughtful and well planned out, the character [...]

    • So I thought I knew where the storyline was going - boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy can't have girl because girl is out of bounds because the world has been divided between the Oxys and the Blues. And then the storyline it went pear-shaped, upside-down, inside-out - I knew something was on the go, but I wasn't sure what, and I didn't think it was what it was (no spoilers here!). I loved how Alex's two worlds collided and rushed the story to its gripping ending I hope there's a s [...]

    • I've read Philippa Cameron's two previous novels: one deals with depression and the other with an abusive relationships, and this time she's come up with another theme - that of unrequited love: What happens when you fall in love with the wrong person? It's a great love story, but what I also enjoyed was how she ran the love story across the world that she created - one that is very familiar because it's set today, while being very different because the world is divided into two groups - and ran [...]

    • I have read Philippa Cameron's other books and while this one is different from the other two, I still really enjoyed it because of the way she builds her characters so they are so real, and I also loved the angle she took in her plot - the way the country (and the world) has been divided, not on race or religion or culture, but on who can breathe the air - makes you think a lot about where we are right now.

    • Alex has a crush on Erin, but Erin doesn't know - and she can't know. There's too much at stake for Alex - and we don't know the half of it. Which brings me to the second half of the book, which is like a book all on its own - I nearly forgot about the first half until the two worlds collide - absolutely brilliant concept (and only a little confusing) but everything gets tied up nicely. Or does it?

    • Romeo and Juliet / Noughts and Crosses - I've always loved star-crossed lover books, and this was a great one to add to my collection! The building romance was good, but I also loved that the book was set in today's world albeit with one small difference - so many connections with what is happening today in our divided word.

    • I enjoyed the storyline for this book. It is very interesting. I also enjoyed reading it. I was always left wondering what would happen in the next chapter.

    • Someone wrote a review saying that weren't that into dystopian but they still loved this book. I'm not that into realistic fiction and I found this book more realistic than dystopiand I still loved it! The story of unrequited love runs through the whole book, so you can read it for the love story, with the background of the dystopian world the author has created often being brought to the forefront, so you can also read if for the dystopian angle. A clever plot, a clever twist and a clever endin [...]

    • I've been reading so many books from a girl's perspective so it was awesome to read one with a male voice - and also one who sounds so yummy! The star-crossed lovers have so many hurdles to overcome - will they ever make it together? I'm not telling!image:
